Moving On
Things have been moving along nicely today. My energy level is back to normal. I stayed cautious however, knowing how these viruses can play tricks on us.
Germany has still been in my thoughts. That Football.
I am reliably informed (yes, an oxymoron in the world of politics) that several MSPs* are booked to head for Germany next week, having been given permission before that wee creep Sunak called the election. Now they are under pressure to stay in their constituencies to campaign for their MP colleagues.
My cousin is going with his son who must be in his early thirties now. It makes me feel really old. I am not sure who is in charge of who on that trip.
Ruminating on all this reminded me to start reading the book I picked up at its launch last month...
"At six she slurped Soleros
outside the Parc des Princes
juice dripping stickily down fingers
as her brother climbed, and skipped, and danced.
...
From Parc des Princes to Hampden
you built it, they will come.
One nation, two teams
and a summer full of dreams"
From Cuthbert and McGinn by Julie McNeill.
Of course the food is great in Bavaria as well as the beer. Looks it would suit me in Hamburg too.
