Three Castles Trial

FRIDAY

Today was the final day of the Three Castles Classic Car Trial and we were fortunate to have the cars passing through our village between 09:00 and 10:30.

I decided to walk up into the hills above Tremeirchion where the course planners had sneakily introduced a short dog-leg section down a narrow country lane complete with checkpoint (see one of the extras). Quite a number of cars missed the turning and will receive a suitable quota of penalty points.

I had lunch out at the 1891 restaurant in Rhyl and later went over to Denbigh for petrol and another stop off at the garden centre for some more plants.

The main photo is the 1965 Austin Healey 3000 Mk III driven by Neil Beresford.

Car 56 in the extra is a 1955 Jaguar XK 140 and the other Jaguar is an 1958 XK 150. The car at the checkpoint is a 1926 Bentley 3/4 1/2
