Late Afternoon Walk

Today’s walk was an old favourite, from New Abbey down to Airds Point and back, it should be a circular walk but we haven’t found the way back that avoids a river bank scramble . The weather was kind to us in that it didn’t rain but the temperature could be improved upon somewhat. The main image is that of Sweet Heart Abbey a 13th Century Cistercian abbey which looks very pretty from a distance but is closed because of high level inspection, for that read we don’t want to pay for the insurance if a brick should fall on your head so we’re closing the site.
The extra image is that of an oyster catcher down on Airds Point, He was not trying to avoid attention given the racket he was voicing.
A good walk of about 17.5km on tarmacked roads made for warm, tired feet.
