Wound up in Wexford

By Neatwithice

Another good morning's work

Joe turned up just after 9am, which was good for us, as we have a tendency to sit down after breakfast and then not get moving for some time.

He provided two lengths of suitably rusty box iron that were lying around in his yard and would be good sturdy uprights for the gate.  Chunks were cut off each.  Holes were drilled.  Digging holes in the ground with his wonderful auger was SO much quicker than we could have achieved with pickaxe and spade.

And although getting the gate bolted to the uprights involved extra drilling and cutting, it was all quite easy with the aid of Joe's enthusiasm.

And planting the uprights in the holes was a doddle with his extra strength and assistance.  It was all achieved without my help, except as a pair of eyes to agree that the gate looked "right" - it's not quite perfectly level, but the appearance against the farmland behind is better.

Meanwhile, I planted some geraniums, and took photos!

After Joe left, W planted more trees, I shortened some curtains.
