Life through the lens...

Only a few are left to remember

(Lost all my write up.)

D Day 80th Anniversary.
On this day I was only six and a half weeks old.
I wonder what my mum and dad thought that day.

My dad was working for a company in Bradford at the time.
They had invented a way of producing a fabric with a metal thread running through it.
This was made into electric jackets for rear gunners in the aircraft to keep them warm, as they had been dying of hypothermia or freezing to death in the cold.

Today I was amazed that by putting my father’s name in Google I came up with details of the patent in October 1941.

MrC had his eye injection this morning.
This afternoon we have been watching some of the very moving 80th Commeration events.

I hope that the younger generation and those to come, never forget the sacrifices those brave men made so that we have our freedom today.
