Grumpy Old Man

Cat among the fronds

Dull again today with occasional showers. I've messed up the computer again - I took it back to a Restore Point to get rid of some changes I regretted, and now I can't access the Internet for some reason. It's just a matter of settings, I think, but in the meantime I'm having to use Mrs M's laptop.

I drove down to the Walled Garden this afternoon to make sure that the peas and beans were climbing what they should be climbing - I'll probably have to do it again once or twice until they get established. As soon as I set off the rain began, and now I'm home the sun's out!

My Blip today is of Susie roaming about on the Drive Bed, in front of a lovely clump of Onoclea sensibilis var. sensibilis, the North American form of the Sensitive Fern. A lovely, gently spreading species.

Quote of the Day: 'When Nature gives a gorgeous rose or yields the simplest fern, she writes this motto on the leaves "To whom it may concern". ' - John Gordon Saxe.
