A record
The hallway is being repainted next week and we shall lose this record - so I’m saving it. There was a time when Sarah was taller than David (she’s 21 months younger) - it was a tough time for the poor lad, but he’s surpassed her now - he never quite got to Dad’s height though. For scale, Anisha is about 5’2” and John is about 6’6”. A whole array.
Thank you for the sympathy about my mum and the GP saga yesterday - I appreciate it; I hear that many of you face the same problems but it’s also reassuring that there are excellent GP surgeries out there too. My mum’s surgery was closed for the day and I ended up with the out of hours service and they were fantastic. They’ve promised to go see her today - after a week of her not being able to eat, barely drink, vomiting, unable to get out of bed and in agony from broken vertebrae. Oh and the small matter of not being able to take heart medication. She’s nearly 87 - the attitude from one of the GPs was that’s she’s old, what do I expect - well I expect her to be treated with respect and compassion - if she is at the end of her life she should be given palliative care, if not, she deserves the same standard of care as anyone else. I know there’s huge pressure on the services and I’m sure everyone is doing their best but if we don’t speak up how can there be change. I wasn’t going to officially complain but I shall. Not today though, today I’m just hoping for a lull.
