Windy, Gloomy and Finally a Peek of Sun!

The weather is gradually clearing up and we're expecting gorgeous weather for the rest of the week. In fact, it's supposed to be in the mid-80's F on Friday! I'm sure we'll all be groaning about how hot it is!

You might remember that I fell and broke my elbow in February. Unfortunately, my hip has been bothering me since my elbow healed, to the point of tears at times. I had an MRI last Saturday and it turns out that I've got a full-thickness tear of my gluteus minimus...the smallest of the glutei muscles. I've been referred to an orthopedic surgeon. Since I've committed to teaching this summer I likely won't be able to have surgery until late August unless I can get some coverage. The whole thing is almost more than I can bear. My sister cackled when I told her and said that I had a "broken butt". About right I'm afraid.

Meanwhile, I pulled myself up by the proverbial britches and as the sun emerged, I planted my three tomato plants in my HOA raised bed. I puttered around in the courtyard trying to get myself out of my funk. Everything is growing well after the big rains we've had the last couple of days.

These lovely sempervivums are in a container on the table in my courtyard. I was sitting there as the sun was in and out of the clouds and thought they looked particularly lovely!
