Taking a DNA test

I heard from a friend that she has had a DNA test done of her cat.
 She wanted to find out if her Burmese cat is a genuine Burmese especially since in adulthood it had grown long hair.
 
And yes taking a sample of DNA from the cat was a fraught experience and needed two people since the cat objected furiously to having sticks stuck in its mouth.
 
Back came the DNA result. One half of the cat’s origin revealed a mixture of breeds mainly Burmese plus a Persian – hence the long hair but the other half was common British shorthair. 
 
Has anyone had their DNA done? I gather kits are available online.
