Keeping them well fed

A pair of bluetits have setup home in this nest box on the gable end of our house. They must have a young family to feed as they are in and out every minute during the day. It’s lovely to quietly sit and watch their comings and goings.
In the morning I returned to volunteering at Lunch Club in the village hall. I had missed a couple of months while Nick was recuperating following his operation but now that he is more or less fully fit again I am able to return to activities such as this. Today I took along a large pan of lightly spiced carrot and lentil soup which went down very well indeed.
It has been a day of sunshine and showers and although there was a cool northerly wind I was amazed to see quite a few hailstones in the showers this afternoon and evening!
