Middle Zone

Playing around with focus today. The alliums looked wonderful backlit by sunlight through the trees.

I decided on a different take, with a shallow dof, I focused on the leaves in the middle, leaving the flowers in front and behind to go soft.

I would think the leaves are generally considered the least interesting, but drawing attention to them makes the image unusual. Besides, doing so highlights the colour and shape, en-masse, of the flowers. Also, I like the bokeh effect, in two sizes.

A metaphor, if there is one, is that important details exist in the grey zone, in the middle.
