Flight of the Little Bittern

This is the first Little Bittern I’ve consciously seen (I thought it was a Night heron) and if you have time have a look at the extras which show a couple of poses including a very elongated neck. I didn’t réalise this is a camouflage attempt apparently. The things you learn on Blip quests! They are on the endangered list in Switzerland.

I was very lucky to see this at Villeneuve today as we have had the monsoon on and off all day. Mainly on when I was sorting out the pond, so I am glad to be sitting in the warmth with my feet up now!
