A new route for us

After a lot of faffing about we got underway at 11.30. We stopped off at a garage to check tyre the van pressure but were unable to add more air. Then we called in at Halfords to pick up beam deflector stickers - usually we have spares. We discovered the M62 going east has no services so we had to go off to get fuel and the huge shop had only tabloid papers. Around 4 we got to Port of Hull and the P&O ferry where we had a bit of manoeuvring to get into the space they wanted to put us. We try not to travel with P&O since they sacked all their British crew and employed cheap Filipino labour but this time DFDS from Newcastle was £500 cheaper which put paid (sorry pathetic pun) to our principles.

The Newcastle ferry has its Sky Bar both inside and out whereas this is all enclosed with no access to a deck. We’ll have a gin and then go out - we have coats! (It’s cold and windy - I also have Kwells).

This is the Humber Bridge through the bar window using x5 optical zoom plus 1.5 digital on my new phone.
