A day in the life

Popovers deluxe

My old friend Elaine, originally from Scranton, USA, has lived in Lund for most of her life and is one of my oldest friends here. She loves to make special things for her visitors and for breakfast I was treated with her "Popovers deluxe". The ones in the picture are merely a happy memory now.

For my last leg of the journey I'm visiting J who is staying in his summer cottage at the moment, right next to the south border of Sweden by the sea in a place called Beddinge. Among other things, this coast is famous for its beaches but a huge number of them got ruined by the storm "Babet" in the autumn. The first extra shows what is left of a beautiful sandy beach close to where he lives, you can just about see some of the sand that is left. Authorities are trying to restore some of the beaches by driving lorry-loads of sand to the beaches but most of them will maintain what they are today. Second extra is a lucky shot of a normal summer event here, a local thunderstorm, from arrival to departure in less than thirty minutes.
One reason I'm behind in blipping is that we were talking until half past two in the morning.
