A time for everything

On the road

Friday 17 May
Today we were heading south, to ultimately meet up with our daughter Jen on Jekyll Island in South Georgia on Sunday. We are taking our travel trailer/caravan, hence slower speeds, so we are taking our time to get down there, stopping tonight at a KOA (Kampground of America) site near Asheville North Carolina, and tomorrow night in Sumter South Carolina. We had a significant delay at one point in Tennesee, and finally pulled into our campground about 6pm. In general we wouldn’t choose a KOA site, as from our past experience, the pitches tend to be very close together, and this one was no exception, at least in the area we were in, tucked in between big mammoth campers. Also, it was very close to the interstate, which whilst handy, the road noise disturbed us at night. Certainly not a site to stay for more than a night!
