Blue Morpho
What a lovely morning I had at the butterfly house, our first day since the opening last week.
The sun was shining and it was very warm in there which always makes for lots of flying by the butterflies. Plenty of these large Blue Morphos flapping around, delighting the visitors - and even some mating.
This would normally be great news for us as we love it when we can breed our own butterflies and show the full life cycle, but sadly we don't have any of their host plant for them to lay the eggs on. I'll need to do some research to see if there is something we can do about that.
