Garden Companion

Apart from a gentle bit of cycling today with Janet, I've been in the gardens, pottering in the veg beds and other places under strict instruction from the head gardener. Trimming branches, digging beds over, building bean canes...

And all the time this little blackbird has been scuttling around my feet in case I've unearthed something she can call breakfast, or lunch... Almost as trusting as the robins, she's been a constant companion today. Here she's in the trees at the back of the very front garden, and the late afternoon Sun is revealing her in all her colours.
