Dangerous things book festivals

You spend far too much money on books.

Ironically our last three sessions at Hay were amongst the least compelling. The session on class was a rather weird and jumbled lecture and the session with the US Ambassador to the UK and the actress playing her fictional counterpart (extra) was a bit erratic. Our final session with Simon Scharma was emotive and at times controversial, perhaps inevitably. One major audience spat and Scharma lost the plot a little. But that in itself tells a story.

The journey home was mercifully quick. We did a lot of unpacking and perusing of purchases. I think I need to read a book a week going forward …
