Travelling

We were up at 2.30am to travel to Birmingham Airport (UK) for our flight to Kefalonia (Greece) before getting the 4.45pm ferry to Ithaca.  The queues for security check in were horrendous, taking two hours and stretching over half a mile!  The new 3D scanners are supposed to speed things up!  As these new scanners affect film, they were happy to check them with another method.

Getting to Ithaca, it was straight to Vathy in our hire car for my evening appointment with a dentist to have a molar implant to replace one I had out two years ago because of infection.

After antibiotics I had an hout to kill and walked around the town for some shutter therapy. I like the low sun on the wall of the golden wall light casting a great shadow, contrasting nicely with the blue and gold blind above.

The implant wasn't very pleasant but went as well as it could. I go back next Saturday evening for the next step! The worse is over.

We arrived at our friend villa about 8.30pm (6.30pm UK time) and after posting this blip it'll be an early night with cold drinks and pain killers!
