Everybody Sing!
My husband had a car appointment in the afternoon, and he dropped me off at Soaring Eagle Wetland while he handled that. I walked along Bald Eagle Creek and took pictures, and ended up sitting in my chair under a tiny pavilion with my book and tunes box. He eventually met me there.
It was breezy and lovely, with plenty of sunshine, and with birds at a nearby nesting box providing plenty of entertainment. I'd already seen a pair of Canada geese and their three fuzzy yellow offspring. Red-winged blackbirds were all over the place. By the afternoon's end, we would spot a bald eagle flying above the treetops.
I was close enough to the birds on the nesting box to obtain a bunch of very clear shots. The two birds flew all around, went into the nesting box on occasion, but mostly just sat on top of it and interacted. I believe they may be tree swallows, and their behavior led me to believe the one on the left might be a juvenile, with its mouth open, requesting to be fed.
Here is one of my better shots, and I thought it looked like the two birds were putting on a performance: everybody sing! It reminded me of that Coke ad from the 70s, so here that is: I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing (In Perfect Harmony).
