A Visit to Tomten Farm and Sanctuary
What a wonderful time I had visiting Tomten Farm and Sanctuary. I went to deliver my donation for their 10th anniversary celebration later this month. As a sustaining donor of the farm, I got to put a dedication on their new memorial wall which will be unveiled at the anniversary celebration. I dedicated it to my late brother, Michael, who loved animals as much as I do.
Let me introduce you to some of the residents of the farm. Clockwise beginning in the upper left. Three of the cows (back to front) Humphrey Moogart, Greta GarMoo, and Gideon Moo, that's me and my favorite resident, Beatrice Poppins Braymore who is 40 years old and blind in one eye but just the sweetest ever. We were discussing how our hair matched. Next, that's my donation for the auction of an assemblage of my needle felted bears called "Bedtime Stories" which is a nursery nightlight. Then there's Henry Piggins (think My Fair Lady). His best friend, Owen Oinksalot was hanging out in the Pigloo. Next is Baby B (Beatrice's son) and Amelia Braybelle waiting for their treat of a slice of tangerine. Finally, there is SaMule Halfhorse, rescued from a kill auction. They all will live here until the ends of their days, happy, loved and safe.
On Thursday, Grover the Pig passed away lying in a patch of clover, surrounded by those who cared and loved him. No matter how long they are here, and some come as elderly rescues, they will live their last days in the most beautiful landscape with all their needs met and, most of all, knowing they are loved. Here is a link to the farm so you can see the amazing work they do. Hello June!
