A Long Day

We were up town fairly early taking a wander up Calton Hill followed by a wander round the Apple Store. Then a bus down to the Portobello seaside; lunch, a walk on the beach, a stroll on the promenade and a seat to watch the volleyball players (Extra: a young fan), a bucket of 2p pieces in the Amusement Arcade, another lunch (12 year olds eat and eat and eat!), and the bus home so I could make dinner.
But then the main event of the day - Alex’s first time on a golf course! He hit some good shots, some bad shots, missed the ball now and then and, unlike me, didn’t lose any golf balls so I’d rate that a success. But boy did he take his time! We were just playing the front nine and couldn’t have played any longer - finished pretty much in the dark.
