Baby Love

Now, here’s an event I never thought I’d be invited to, given my advanced years - a baby shower!
I met David and Bex last year when I was doing “Blackadder” with Lancaster Footlights. His performance as the “Baby eating Bishop of Bath and Wells” has passed into Footlights legend, so gloriously over the top was his portrayal of the odious cleric.
At that time, they hadn’t been together long, but what a difference a year makes. They are now engaged to be married and are expecting a baby in July. It was nice to be invited and great to catch up with several of my fellow “Blackadder” cast members. Naturally, there was a lot of talk about auditions for this year’s “Blackadder” performances, which will be held in a fortnight’s time.
I wish them both all the best for the future and I’m sure they will be great parents.
