The greenwoods
A good day today with sunshine early on, though it came and went throughout the day. More stinky tar smell wafting through the house this morning - the road guys have nearly finished, so maybe one more day will see the road resurfaced.
We planned to take our guests over to Mull this afternoon to meet up with our daughter. They wanted to go down and have a wander through the town in the morning, so they popped into the ferry terminal and bought tickets for us all.
We boarded the Chugging Bathtub for the 2.15 crossing. More of the usual disruption, of course - the 'Clansman' had broken down and was being replaced temporarily by the 'Isle of Mull', so the Mull crossing depended on the Bathtub, aka 'Loch Frisa', and the 'Coruisk'. Neither of these ferries are big enough to use the overhead gangways, so passengers have to walk up the vehicle ramps once the cars have loaded.
We met our daughter and she took us up to a community forest where forestry conifers are gradually being removed to allow natural regeneration. A lovely walk beside the Lussa River - my Blip today.
We then retired to the Craignure Inn for an early dinner, a local pub which to be honest has seen better days! The food was good though and afterwards we walked back to board the 6.25 ferry across to Oban. A lovely day was had by all!
Quote of the Day: 'For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver.’ - Martin Luther King Jr.
