Sedbergh Book Festival

In Sedbergh to visit A and support the Sedbergh Book Festival. Knowing I liked crime writers,  A booked us to hear Julia Chapman, author of the Dales Detective series.  ( as in Yorkshire Dales) .  I've not read any of them but the talk was amusing and interesting. And there was a lot of cake and tea afterwards. 
Julia is on the right. She is being interviewed by Jean C Briggs who lives in Sedbergh and has written a series of books imagining Charles Dickens as a private investigator. According to Briggs,  " Dickens is credited with the creation of the first literary detective, Inspector Bucket, in Bleak House".  Both authors look worth investigating further, no pun intended.
