Six Feet Under

Apart from simple age, one of the candidates for the delamination of the old carpet was that we frequently had to move the fairly weighty sofa back and forth on 4 small casters.

The carpet man recommended replacing them with sliding feet.   Thus, I've created a set of feet from one of those pieces of "nice bit of hardwood that'll come in useful one day".

Admittedly, it's been waiting at least 20 years for that day - it was part of the window frame we replaced in Cambridge.

I've since augmented the feet with PTFE panels and it moves around far easier than it ever did with casters.
