Spanish Moss

Spanish moss is an epiphyte, meaning it gets all of its nutrients from the air and rainwater. Isn't that amazing? It's a common misperception that it harms trees. It does not. In fact, it is very important to the ecology of Florida.. 

"Many animals use Spanish moss for protection, taking cover in the thick masses. Insects love to hide out in the moss, too. Spanish moss is also a significant component of the nests of several species of birds, including the parula warbler and the Baltimore oriole." 

I think it's beautiful and so, I've taken many photos of this interesting plant. It is inspiring to me.
