Desperately seeking

First View

My first view of Chatsworth House. No handsome man in a dripping wet shirt, though. I've always wanted to visit Chatsworth. We didn't have time to go in the house today, but I did enjoy a coffee and a look in the gift shop. I found myself teaching my granddaughter how a typewriter worked!

(I was horrified to have left my handbag on my chair in the courtyard but the family now sitting there had handed it in to staff, complete with little camera and cash inside! Phew! There are kind people around.)

Before we went to Chatsworth Rachel wanted to see her friend, Rebecca Gallagher's,  artwork in an open-studio event. She knew I enjoyed art and I was amazed by the liveliness and power of her oil paintings. I saw a print that I thought would look great in #2 Daughter's bedroom but, thankfully, Rachel told ne she had already bought Kat that one that Kat chose herself and I had framed last year!

When we got home I had a little canvas set in front of me and a paintbrush put into my hand. Oh, gosh, a long-forgotten feeling.
