Feathery

I've a couple of patches of Tradescantia in the garden - large mounds of long strappy leaves which die back to nothing over the winter - they're flowering at the moment but the leaves still dominate the scene. Up close, the flowers are interesting, with feathery hairs surrounding the stamens & stigma. The original plant was given to me by a neighbour a long, long, time ago and it survived the move to Suffolk, transplanting, splitting, etc. I remember being surprised when she told me its name, as I'd only known the houseplant Trads before.
