Canada Dogwood (Bunchberry)

Much of the forest floor here is evergreen, with lots of moss and winterberry and the like. Somehow I think this makes the flowers that much more appealing when they appear in the spring, reminiscent of the way stars appear in the evening sky as the sun goes down. Only in reverse? And I know that technically this these white "petals" are not part of the true flower, but rather bracts. But still.
