Bolsover Castle

It wasn't a good day to choose for traveling. What with it being half term and the day after a bank holiday weekend the traffic was stupid. Ah well, there aren't any good days to travel any more.Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

We've stopped at Bolsover which is about halfway to Morpeth where we're headed. I thought while we're here I'd have a look at the castle but of course it's an English Heritage place and you can't get near it unless you pay 45 squillion pounds and if there's a blue moon and a 'ph' in the month they might open it to let you in. I walked the perimeter and you can hardly see it but then I remembered I had the drone in the car so I went back after supper to get this shot.

I had to laugh when we went down for our meal. The very young lady asked if we'd like drinks so I asked what ales they had. She said they had  XB and 5G. I asked what colour they were? She said the XB was red and white and the 5G was green. That wasn't what i expected to hear so I went and looked and found those were the colours of the label on the pump. I chose the XB and when it arrived it was a nice amber colour.
