Abbotsford
MaggieD and I had a great run down the A7 this morning to visit Abbotsford, the home of the great novelist Sir Walter Scott. We did not go into the house on this occasion but will keep that delight for another day. It was really the gardens that we wished to see but, in all honestly, we were a touch underwhelmed. The grass was full of bare patches and under-watered re-turfings and the garden bits had too many areas of bare earth and a good crop of weeds. The building has just re-opened after a mega refurbishment so I will be charitable and blame the aftermath of the building work for the slight lack of garden delight. I am sure next time it will be much better.
Just watched Andy Murray winning the Wimbledon men's title - Jolly Well Done Mr Murray!
