Shipton Hall

...Well, not quite.

Today I had a fun trundle around the sleepy hamlet of Shipton, at the eastern fringe of the Corvedale. I have blipped from here before when visiting the church of St. James, which is built in the grounds of the main hall.

My primary aim was to capture the magnificent show of rhodedendrons that are on display at the front of the hall.

The main hall can be seen in my first extra.  And another view can be seen in the second extra.

The main image is a view of the stableblock, a handsome and impressive building in it's own right.

The hall has a fascinating story and has links to the Pilgrim Fathers back in the 17th century.

For a brief insight I have included a link, if you have a moment....

Later in the day Mrs I and I made two trips to the tip to dispose of loads of garden waste and old timbers from the woodpile. I also mowed the lawn and took Hollie for a two mile walk.

And the toad is back again. Persistent and determined....I like that.
