Being rude - as 10 and 12 years old can be

I prepared nice food for #3 daughter, Ella and Nathaniel coming to stay the night. Luke had the chance to do a bank holiday shift for double pay so did that.

We had lunch - they loved the tapenade I made which they had on sour dough,
then when Mr C and I were ready to take the children to Cragside a message came through to say it was closed as it was full.

We decided just to walk through the woods to the moor instead. It was a real plodge as we’ve had so much rain (showers again today). We walked through the field with sheep and big lambs - they are keen on sheep maybe because their Great great grandfather had a farm and had sheep it’s still in the genes!

Mr C walked with Ella while I walked with Nathaniel. He spent the whole walk explaining the plots of all the Planet of the Apes films - in great detail.

They enjoyed their dinner of the melon, coriander, spring onion, dried cranberry, sunflower seed and crushed almond starter. (Well not the nuts - see Reston for hilarity). For main we had orzo with leeks, asparagus, spinach and - oops - hazelnuts. That went down well.

They were desperate for pudding so it was lucky I’d made one - strawberry and lemon tiramisu.

They were hilarious at dinner as can be seen from the Blip. (The hilarity was caused by me telling Nathaniel to eat his nuts - you know where a 10 year old boy and his sister took that).
