MEMORIAL DAY PROGRAM

It's Memorial Day in the U.S. where we remember the sacrifices of the members of our Armed Forces and those of their families.

The local chapter of the American Legion has formal ceremonies in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in our small village where several veterans are buried.  In addition to inspiring words, there was a formal volley of rifle fire by members of American Legion Post 484, and taps was played.  In the absence of a real live bugler, taps was played on a recording device.
