Pounding the streets

Another beautiful sunny day and morning dip. FK and I had taken on the job of leaflet dropping to advertise the 20/20 cricket. Well actually, FK had taken it on, but needed a responsible adult with him...he ended up with me! We were only staying local and ended up being out for 4hrs and walking 7 and a half miles! Some of the houses were so beautiful and I enjoyed the well kept gardens, especially these striking Arum lillies. They remind me of my dad as he used to grow these in their garden at Burton Bradstock and he used to sell them at the church village fete.
I thought we'd finished, so stopped at the UB gasping for a half of something cold. FK looked at the map and decided we could do a couple or 3 more local roads, so off we trotted again. I'm so glad we did, as a lady stopped me calling me by name. It was Byrony who used to come to the toddler group when I was doing kids crafts there. Her eldest Chloe was the toddler and she had just had baby George, who I used to cuddle while she played with Chloe. Today she had Holly with her, George is 11 and Chloe 13! How time flies, but it was so lovely to see her and be remembered.
Everyone was surprised, but pleased we had covered such a distance. I was initially frustrated I'd missed parkrun, but certainly made up for it! My knees and hips ache. I convinced FK to get in the tub which he appreciated after the initial toe dip! The temp was now reading 24° and we both had 10mins each. It certainly helps with the aches too! We watched some more cricket together with MrK to finish off a glorious sunny day. Warwickshire made the strange decision not to ask Essex to follow on, after their disastrous batting display. We could be in with a chance here! What do I know!
