Squashed Head of St Helens ...

Doesnt have the same ring to it as 'Angel of the North' but all the same "Dream" is a stunning piece of work. Its on the site of an old colliery* and came about from the towns old motto "Out of the earth comes forth light", my own grandparents spent many years down the pit. I wasnt certain about it at first but its actually very beautiful when you get up close, real shame its so hidden from the motorway but well worth a walk... ... just dont do what i did and walk up there in a pinstripe suit with an elegant yet warm double cuff shirt in 32degree heat! *Bloody thatcher, still not forgiven the old witch, etc
