Rock This Town

Guitarists will be able to work out from this photo where I have ended up today. Concrete cows and roundabouts are also associated with this town.
For anyone still not sure, I can reveal we are in Milton Keynes. Not the most obvious place to stay but, from prior experience, we know it is very handily placed for exploring London and the Home Counties. Since Avanti took over the West Coast main line, the service to London from the Lake District has been shambolic at best and we just can’t rely on getting there on time. But, from nearby Bletchley station, we can get Day Travelcards (including the Underground) for less than £20 each with our Senior Railcards and the fast train only takes 40 minutes to get into Central London. Which is where we’re headed tomorrow.
So rather than gamble with Avanti and pay London hotel prices, we drove down to MK this afternoon. A miserable journey from the point of view of torrential rain all the way, but there were no major hold ups. An early start tomorrow as we want to go to quite a few places before the main event of the day - Eric Clapton at the Royal Albert Hall.
