Keeping Long Hours

I put my trail cam out last night for the first time in ages. I  hadn’t seen any signs of mammals for some time, but thought I’d check. No signs of anything in the darkest hours. However, as well as singing long past sunset, the blackbirds were up before dawn, scavenging for food for a growing family.
