Postcard from Burford.
We had a very enjoyable journey through the Cotswolds this morning.
Still quite warm and hazy sun.
Decided to stop at Burford as we haven't been since before Covid. Again a favourite village.
Not too busy and we managed to park in the only Free carpark we have had all holiday!
The place has changed quite a bit.
One or two empty shops and two pubs closed, although there were some shops and a pub being refurbished.
However a lot of money was being spent on ' doing up' many of the houses.
One we particularly liked see first extra
I think the sunroom/orangery would have cost more than our house is worth!
Nice to see the Lamb hotel was still open and looked as it did when we stayed there quite a few years ago.( see collage)
Sheep Street ( also see collage)
The brush shop is also still there( see extra)
Unfortunately most of the brushes were from abroad.
Another beautiful white wisteria was covering the wall of a pretty cottage. ( collage)
The other collage photo is a house alongside the river Windrush.
We stopped for coffee and croissants at Huffkins and then set off for home.
M1 busy with road improvements but got back late afternoon to warm sunshine!
Garden has certainly grown thanks to our neighbour who has been looking after for us.
Rest of this week sounds dreadful weather!
