Possibly the root of a sorrel plant

When clearing the small deep bed we came across this magnificent root and think it must be from a sorrel thought to be dead. There is one growing next to it shown in extra. (As always I am open to your thoughts). The bed is now clear of weeds and whatever else apart from one sorrel plant, to replace it carrot seeds are in there with Rory’s hammock over the top. He has found it and lounging happily as I write.
