Hello dear

A brilliant day starting with a dip in the Puffin Pool.We popped into David’s for a cuppa and were then on our way to Poolewe.
A beautiful drive. We stopped at the Midge bite cafe for a bacon and egg roll. It was very busy so we parked our car near the station and Mike walked up the hill to the cafe. We watched the birds and butterflies by the pond.
On to Loch Maree where we found a sucluded bench to sit and have a cup of tea. Lovely views across the loch with clear mountain tops.
We stopped at Gairloch and watched the boats coming and going. The bright sunshine was out now lighting up all the scenery.
We went to Pool House for dinner. We divided up our dinners , quiche and a trio of Salmon and there was plenty of it. We sat in the garden. The hedge was abit too high to see the view of Loch Ewe but it was still lovely.
We left the car in the carpark and walked down to check in to our B&B. A beautiful building and a lovely room.
These red deer were in the field in front of the house. There were a few more looking handsome with their new antlers.
Back to Pool House for a Ghost Tour. Just us so we were lucky it went ahead as they usually like to have at least 6. It meant we got to see the house too. An interesting tour with gruesome tales. We were given monitors to detect any ‘presence’ . Mine went crazy at one point and continued through a few rooms. I also had a go at dowsing rods where you could ask the ‘spirits’ yes and no questions and the rods might react, crossing for no and spreading apart for yes. I’m not sure how it worked as I was holding them still but they did move ! I did not feel anything or see anything. The house had quite a nice feel to it really and had fantastic views across the loch.
It was still only 6.30 pm so we headed off to find Firemore beach, stunning in the low light and we enjoyed a walk along the waters edge.
On to the end of the road to see old war buildings and  the Artic Convoy memorial.
We watched the sun go down before going back to our B&B
