Don't Miss The Duck Race

I completely missed the Northern Lights last night as I wasn't even aware they had happened until I watched the news this morning. I've seen some of my fellow blippers' wonderful images and couldn't quite believe I'd missed them altogether! :-(
I had to take my brother for an appointment today and as I had time to kill before I had to go back to collect him I bought the Saturday papers and took the short drive to Loose to sit and read them in a lovely peaceful spot overlooking the village. 
On my way back I noticed this wonderfully vibrant sign advertising the village's annual duck race and was annoyed to see that I'd missed it too - until on closer inspection I realised it's happening on the forthcoming May Bank Holiday and hadn't been on the previous one. So o.k I might have missed out on a perhaps once in a lifetime opportunity to view the glorious natural phenomena that is the aurora borealis but at least I might still get a chance to see the duck race! :-)
