Leaving

My flight is delayed by 1:45 due to low cloud here this morning, so the taxi also delayed itself by 1:45, but without telling me! I waited outside the apartment for 25 minutes, emailed, and had a reply within a few minutes. The 85km taxi ride only cost me £52, which was a relief. I snatched this on the journey, as Klaksvík was covered in low cloud.

Earlier I'd packed and tidied up in plenty of time, so had a walk to the other side of the fjord in the hope that the recycling facility at the alcohol shop might be open. However, the shop was closed until 13:00. Recycling is a mystery here. There appear to be no curbside recycling, nor public recycling bins. I've once been told that all waste is sorted for recycling, but it feels odd to be putting jam jars in with onion skins...

It's been a great experience. I've not done everything in the outdoors that I'd hoped before I came, but unexpected opportunities came with the flow that were great, so I'm more than satisfied. Work-wise, I've not done any of the substantial programming that I'd hoped to achieve, having spent ages marking. However, I submitted a funding proposal that may mean that I never mark again! My bond with this country is strengthened, and I look forward to my next trip. Probably not five weeks though, Livresse!

Boarding...

Found the sun over Scotland! Bonus point for saying where this is
