How Many Song Birds Fly to and Fro

Allotment day today, despite the exhaustion hanging over from a long drive and excitement, there were things to be done.

For himself, that involved chatting to a fellow member of the committee and putting the world to rights, while I rolled about on a soft, soil sand bed trying to plant the sweet corn.

I never thought that I would enjoy something quite so much.  I love wiating to see if the seeds will germinate. I watch the seedlings as they get bigger, and bigger, and then the day comes when they are ready to get into the ground.

We are three weeks ahead of last years, and the seedlings all look healthy.  I'm looking forward to watching them grow.

I also put a couple of Kale Plants  in which I had managed to slip in with my cosmos .  Si had already planted cauliflowers to I popped them in beside them.

It was quite lovely and no one was there, so we stuck the drone up to get a snap of the plots.  We are sitting at the table - next to the water tanks.  My plot is to the RIght and Si's plot has an X marking the spot.

In my plot - there are two beds of Onions, two beds of Strawberrys, a bed of garlic, fruit trees, and cauliflowers (and two kale plants.

In Si's Onions, Parnsips, Sweet Corn, Potatoes, Asparagus, Berloti beans, Broad beans, and peas.

It never, ever fails to astound me, how the plot can be grey and dull, and then suddenly, everything has sprung to life.
