Q Is For Quercus robur

I had a couple of "Q" things at home but I thought it might be nice to venture out to Lowther Castle. Their famous 400 yr-old, T'owd Yak, had died a couple of years ago but the Lowther estate is full of oak trees.

I think it was after the tree's collapse that the estate put tarpaulins under many of the trees to catch the acorns. They wanted them for propagation.

The castle is just and so visible above the trees.
