Busy busy!

Barbara is now my official sous-chef! I had her making crumpets this morning, very competent.
As her reward we took her to that famous Canadian doughnut chain, Tim Hortons, in Penrith. They lived up to her high standards, I had a vanilla latte, Barbara had an iced coffee and Rob had a hot chocolate with apple cinnamon doughnut. Barbara and I had maple syrup fudge doughnuts! Phew!
We felt in need of a walk after that so headed for Aira Force. It was really delightful there. There were pied flycatchers in the oak trees, and a lovely view of a baby dipper being fed by its parent. It wasn’t at all busy and we had a great wander around. 
Then home through Patterdale and over the pass.
Barbara has gone to bed exhausted, and I think she will be glad of the week off she is having with the cousins in the south!
