A special gathering
There was no chance of a Saturday Sunrise today, as the cloud cover was thick and extensive until after midday. So my morning run was a chance to find other subjects.
At midday we were joined by daughter C and sons (daughter J had stayed the night at the beach house so was already here). Then S' brother and partner, came bringing mother in law across from her home. The occasion was a pre birthday get together. I will be out of Auckland on the day, and S decided to arrange this for me.
I so rarely use the timer mechanism on my camera, that I have to rediscover how to do it each time. It's under the function button rather than in the menu. Perhaps writing it down I will now remember.
Mother in law managed to get here and have lunch with everyone, before she needed to head back. I prevailed on her to wait a few minutes while I took this photo. Fortunately it has turned out well, as there is no alternative!
My morning run had been marked by the sounds of the tui in the trees I passed on the way to the foreshore. Then by the gulls swooping in to land on the tongues of sand extending into the retreating tide. There to crossly argue about the day's programme. Or just disagree with each other perhaps. One plan for the early morning was obviously decided; as I cam back along Erceg's Way I was buzzed by the bodgie gulls getting their flying wings or status or something. They chased me up the hill towards the dairy then flew off triumphantly calling to the seniors about how successful they had been
