Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Nine hour marathon. On the sofa.

Another productive day - a few big bags of clothes to the charity shop. Some of the items never saw the light of day. Daft, eh? Wonder how much money we waste in a lifetime on clothes and shoes that are never going to be worn. Still, someone else will get a bargain and use them.

I popped out in the car to the charity shop, and continued on to the duck pond to see what was happening. This wee girl and her dad were there, but she didn't have any bread for the gulls. A family arrived with whole loaves of white bread, so I went and asked for a slice to give to the wee girl. Not completely altruistic - I wanted to take a photo of her feeding them! She was delighted. I think she might have those boots on the wrong feet...

Passed by Dunsapie Loch, and I see the swan pair have four quite big cygnets, but they were at the other side, so I didn't bother waiting for them.

I could hear lots of coo-ing coming down the chimney this afternoon. I reckon the local pigeons are checking out the new chimney top and being thankful that they can't fall asleep and fall in any more.

I'm exhausted after about 9 hours of tennis! What a brilliant Djokovic/Del Potro game! And Murray won! Fingers crossed, though I won't be placing any bets on him winning on Sunday...

Rugby breakfast tomorrow. All this sport is tiring me out!
