Pizza night
We decided with a warm evening in prospect to fire up the pizza oven and light the fire pit. I had so many old rose clippings that we’d meant to burn last year and and they’d been kept dry on the goat shed floor. It’s difficult to eat smartly out down there and we tend to picnic more than anything but the pizzas turned out ok and the clippings pile was reduced.
It was as promised a lovely day, no wayward crows first thing. We opened the curtains to hot air balloon sailing by, beautifully framed by the wisteria. We entirely missed the countrywide aurora maybe because it happened fairly late or we didn’t get it here although a local said they’d seen photos posted from Petersfield. Noticeable that instagram and blip time lines are full of it. Some stunningly beautiful.
Went over to Mum’s to meet up with the tree surgeon to remove the dead tree but he didn’t show up and when I texted him revealed he was ill in bed and had forgotten to cancel. The new lampshades I bought from JL have been rejected so I’m going to have to try and get them taken back and find some others. But at least the second batch of light bulbs work! On her shopping list are more lightbulbs and some new sunglasses.
In the afternoon i really started to get stuck in to the garden. I have far too many pots and i love pot gardening but I am thinking I should have fewer as it would all be more manageable.
After dining out on pizza we belated sat down to watch an ep of The Gentleman but I feel asleep.
